I have been pushing this one off for a while, not because it is a touchy subject, but because I have had to find it within myself to use self-control and humble myself. I am very strong on the fragility and preciousness of life both great and small; I mean just look at my theme for my blog. I used to resent bees and slightly scared of them (mostly because when I was a child, I got stung a nice amount from either accidently stepping on one barefoot, or one landing on me and I freaked out so it stung me.) As I grew older and realized they don’t mean any harm and their stinging is just a safety mechanism, which let’s face it, isn’t really safe for them in the end. A bee gives up its life when it stings you, because the innards are connected to that stinger. The bee will sting you and as it detaches it will literally pull its insides out breaking free. Why am I going into this gruesome description? Well, imagine a baby being safely in the womb of its mother, and someone then breaching the safety of its living quarters and ripping them apart…limb-from-limb. Not joking in the slightest. Ever wonder what abortion does to a child in the womb? I just explained a little tidbit to you. A slight representation of this was shown in the movie “Unplanned”, so go into it preparing yourself emotionally and mentally.
If you are Pro-“Choice” if that’s what you can call it, please stand by and just see what I have to say. I will not judge you, but know this, God will judge you. If you support Pro-“choice” and consider yourself a Christian, then I urge you to really stick around and think about what God is telling you through His words, not mine. I will try my very best to be as neutral as I can in this article and not let my emotions seep out. Now that I have gotten that out of the way, let me begin.
The Name: Pro-Choice
As is the title of my article “What Even is Pro-Choice”? We have Pro-Life for those who support carrying babies full-term and protecting them with their beings, aka being “their voice” when they can’t speak for themselves. What about Pro-Choice though? Why did that even come about? We make choices every day, so what does that have to do with a standpoint on abortion? I believe it came about due to not wanting to call it for what it really is, Pro-death. If we have pro-life then the alternative would be pro-death, not pro-choice. We have the choice to get up in the morning to live our life or stay in bed and waste it away. We have the choice to eat something when we are hungry or starve ourselves. Am I boring you with these not as important everyday things? Look at this now, an alcoholic has the choice to pick up the bottle again and give in to their addiction, or to throw out all of the alcohol in their home and get help. A murderer has the choice to continue to go about killing people they deem unworthy, a nuisance, or lesser than themselves or others, or they can deny their urge and show grace and love to others around them. A bit extreme now, right? Abortion is just the same. Women have the choice to give into their selfishness and the corrupt world by denying their child its own life and reject the responsibility of their actions. A life that they did not give them, but God gave them. One thing that I don’t understand is how can a child or animal see that something is a baby even when it’s in an egg or belly, yet a full-grown adult denies the validity of a baby inside the womb of its mother? I am not saying this to be mean in any way, I am simply just asking questions. What makes the egg of an egal sacred, yet a human embryo lesser? Are we less important than a bird?
Now into my next point: Is a human baby alive, important, or lesser while in the womb while it is still growing? Well, let me ask this, is an elderly person who needs assistance any lesser than an adult or child who can care for themselves? No of course not, they are just as important and should be cared for and treated with respect. So why is it that a baby is treated like it has less rights than any other human being? They are just as important and have their whole life ahead of them. They could become someone who saves you or someone you know, they could become someone who ends up fighting for the same things you find important, they could change the world for the better but are being denied that opportunity. God says in Jeremiah 1:5 “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you; I appointed you a prophet to the nations.”
Psalm 139:16 “Your eyes saw my unformed substance; in your book were written, every one of them, the days that were formed for me, when as yet there was none of them.”
Galatians 1:15 “But when he who had set me apart before I was born, and who called me by his grace”
Psalm 139:13-16 “For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well. My frame was not hidden from you, when I was being made in secret, intricately woven in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed substance; in your book were written, every one of them, the days that were formed for me, when as yet there was none of them.”
Abortion has been around for a long time, yet there used to be major consequences for it, why? Because it was considered and is murder. There have been ancient paintings or sculptures of such, and they are always portrayed with demons, why? Because it is an evil act. What does God say about murder? In Exodus 20:13 “You shall not murder.” Plain and simple, so what does God say the punishment for this is? Here are a few:
Genesis 9:6 “Whoever sheds the blood of man, by man shall his blood be shed, for God made man in his own image.”
Leviticus 24:17 “Whoever takes a human life shall surely be put to death.”
Numbers 35:30-31 “If anyone kills a person, the murderer shall be put to death on the evidence of witnesses. But no person shall be put to death on the testimony of one witness. Moreover, you shall accept no ransom for the life of a murderer, who is guilty of death, but he shall be put to death.”
Revelation 21:8 “But as for the cowardly, the faithless, the detestable, as for murderers, the sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars, their portion will be in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur, which is the second death.”
This is why I said if you consider yourself a Christian and are pro-choice, you might want to humble yourselves, open up your mind and heart to what God’s Word is telling you. It is never okay to take the life of another human being. God gave life to that being, not the mother. Yes, the “act” brought forth a life, but the mother did not create them.
The Complexity of Pregnancy:
Do you even know what all has to go into beginning a fertilized egg to begin with? Do you know how many women and men have fertility issues? In documented cases the average couple under the age of 30 have a 40% – 60% chance of conceiving within the first 3 months of trying. That is a young age range, and that is just from those who were documented as having those statistics. Those over 30 as well as those who have known reproductive issues such as POCS, disfigured uteruses (Bicornuate, Septate, Tilted), Endometriosis, Pelvic Inflammatory disease, low sperm count, as well as testicular or prostate issues are not as accounted for in these studies. Halle Tecco, a businesswoman and fertility advocate, says in her article that “As many as one in 6 couples reportedly struggle to conceive, and 42% of Americans have either sought fertility treatment themselves or know someone who has.” Why am I even giving this information? People think it is easy to conceive a child, but that isn’t the case for everyone. First, intercourse has to occur around a specific timeline to even make conception possible. Then both the egg and the sperm must be strong and resilient to even make it possible. The egg must accept the sperm, and the sperm has to be in tip top shape in the ideal conditions of both the uterus as well as the testicles. Once an egg is fertilized, if it’s gotten to that point, then the major work happens. If the sperm or egg is not ideal then a chemical or early miscarriage may occur, meaning the embryo was not healthy and therefore cannot advance in growing. If the embryo is successful, then comes the difficult process of the placenta attaching correctly to the uterine wall. Whatever the mother eats and intakes will go to the baby, so if they are not consuming properly, the baby’s health will be at risk. After the placenta attaching there are so many more issues that can occur afterwards, but this process is the most crucial for early pregnancy to be successful. So, this is why I say getting pregnant and having a baby is far from easy. Why is this so important? People call embryos just “a clump of cells” and use that as a way to belittle the very much human being in the womb. Hate to break it to you, but as Charlie Kirk stated, “You’re a clump of cells.” He is not wrong; we are all clumps of cells. Your dog is a clump of cells. Every living thing is a clump of cells, that is what builds up who and what we are (form-wise). In recognizing that being a “clump of cells” indeed means it is alive, you are ending *drum roll please* a LIFE, when an abortion is performed. Which is why, going back to the bible verse, a life is required when a life is taken if true justice is to be served to those who take the life of the child.
Conclusion: There is Still Hope for You
God came down in the flesh to take on our sin as Jesus. He took the punishment that we greatly deserve, and as an innocent man, he took our sins and suffered and died for them so that we may be forgiven and have a relationship with God. This does not mean to continue to do wicked things, this means that we must die to ourselves. Turn away from our old ways, our old “values”, and if need be, our old friends and acquaintances. We must give our lives over to him and become a new creation I Him. We must stay close to Him, follow His ways, do what He wills and not what we will. Let His will be done. He turned a man like Saul who crucified and condemned many Christians to death, and by a divine intervention, cleansed him and turned his heart to repentance and absolute obedience and love to do God’s will. He went from killing God’s people to bringing others to God. Jesus saved the woman caught in adultery and told her to repent no more. There is always hope. Your past can be forgiven, and you can choose to walk in His ways and abandon your current or past ways. No one is too far gone. Another great example of a current transformation is the ex-Satan worshiper, John Ramirez, who if you want to learn more about, he has a ton of videos preaching his testimony. He did atrocious things for the devil and was basically his second hand, but then God opened his eyes and he right then and there put aside his old self and old ways and turned to God and His will. He has used him to open the eyes of many people who follow the new age “witch” or “universe” lifestyle. So, you are never too far gone. There is hope for you. You may lose all or most of your friends or family, but in doing so you will see an incredible change in not just yourself, but in possibly the lives of those whom you remain around.
If you find out you are pregnant and don’t know what to do, there are places out there who can help you financially or give you the resources you need to have a healthy pregnancy and be by your side through a journey that might seem scary if you are young or not prepared. They will help you and your baby. A list of a few of these are:
I hope this has helped spread some light on the subject. If there is anything else you wish to add, feel free to write them in the comments.
May God richly bless you and guide you in the path He has set out for you.
